What expense will my school have to create a registry and promote a donation drive?

None, unless you choose to supplement the promotional materials that we provide. Back to top

How do I start my registry?

We will help you get your registry set up to make sure it is customized specifically for your goals. Once you are set up, you can log on at anytime, day or night, to build and edit your lists or generate reports to see purchases made on your behalf. How many items should I have on my registry?

We suggest that you have at least one book or item for each family in your classroom or school. Some families will purchase more than one, and some won't participate, but it is better to have a few extra items left at the end, then to run out. We'd also suggest that you frequently check the progress of purchases off your registry and be ready to add more items so that you don't lose out on potential donors. Back to top

How do I make sure I get the books that are most important to me from my list?

When you choose a book or item to place on your registry, you can mark it as a Priority Item. When the donors look at your registry, these items are marked with a Priority Item icon and come up first in each list or search that the donor initiates. Back to top

My searches don't come up with the results that I am looking for. How can I make them more effective?

There is a section on the website dedicated to making your searches as effective as possible. After you log in, there is a tab called, Hints and Tips for Searches. Click on it and it will give you suggestions on how to form your searches to generate optimal results. Back to top

Why does Bookworm Registry need our School's Tax Exemption ID number?

If we have the school's Tax Exemption ID Number, we can include it on the receipt for your donors. By doing this, their purchase is acceptable as a tax deductable donation. It will help your donors, and may increase the amount of books purchased on your behalf. Back to top

I have items that were never purchased from a Registry I created in the past. Can I start with those items and build my registry from there?

Yes. Contact a representative at 508-954-3231, Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM (EST), or e-mail us at custserv@bookwormregistry.com. We will be able to re-activate your prior registry so that you'll have a starting point and won't have to re-search for those items. Back to top

How can I find out who has bought items from my registry?

When your items are shipped to you, you will also be receiving a delivery from us containing an inventory of the items that have been donated and by whom. There will also be a bookplate included for each donated item. This bookplate will be able to be placed in the book and contains a salutation from the donor. Additionally, we will be providing you with a template thank-you note and a mail merge document of all your recent donors and their addresses. Back to top

How do I find books in my school's registry that would suit my child best?

You can scroll through your school's registry list to look at each title, or you can search your school's registry list by subject, grade, reading level and more, using the search button on the right side of the view registry screen. Back to top

Is my donation tax deductable?

If your school or library is a tax exempt entity and has supplied its Tax Exempt ID Number to Bookworm Registry, your entire purchase will be tax deductable. Bookworm Registry will generate an email receipt, on behalf of the school or library, for you to use for tax deduction purposes, and this tax receipt will contain all information you will need to claim it on your tax forms. Do I have to create a bookplate for each of my purchases?

You have 2 options for your bookplate. First, customize your bookplate with dedication, note and closing, or second, have it auto filled with just your name listed as donor. Back to top

Can I buy from more than one registry at a time?

Yes! You can go to more than one registry and add anything to your shopping cart. You will only have to check out once. Your items will each be shipped to their separate and specific locations automatically and you will receive separate tax receipts if the registries also belong to different schools. Back to top
